Kalyvia Wetland is located between the cities of Nea Kios and Nafplion with a dynamic and important ecosystem. Over time, with the rising waters and the construction of different buildings above it the wetland got smaller, now the area is around 335 km2 and belongs to five different municipal units although there has not been any legal protection from any municipality, yet. More than 150 species of birds visit the wetland yearly and more than fifty species of plants and flowers have been recorded. The geomorphology analysis is based more in a smaller part of the wetland and pictures the zones of the coast and the natural phenomenon that is taking place in every solstice.

The proposal started with the solution of some of the main problems of the area such as reconstructing the road network and the reuse of some abandoned buildings to raise awareness among residents and to educate them about the wetland. Τhere have also been some more direct interventions to enhance the wetland from the sea and land, which are wooden lightweight structures that are in harmony with the environment and meet the construction standards of the area. Ιn the sea there are small huts with specific functions, an observation and rest area, a fishing and temporary housing area and an auxiliary area for the practice of water sports. Corresponding to the mainland there are observatories and paths in the wetland for the monitoring of fauna and the expansion of the wetland and some small markets with local products that show the route from the biotope to ancient Tyrinth.
